exclusive correspondes-paper from painter METZENMACHER. - the task from the customer was, to translate his idea of the new developed RETRO ART into graphic design for his correspondence papers. the content objective was to mix baroque with pop. the formal objective was to mirror a retro style in shape, textures, typeface, details and color into graphic design.
therefore the business card is zeppelin-shaped and has a fluffy surface with embossed details. the idea for the allover print came from the artist first painting (from his series ‘The Crowning Point of Creation’) and shows a mussel motif as a signature for femininity. this translated symbol was used as a baroque motif in allover format through out the designs and is also shown in the watermarks for his letters.
the artist composes paintings for museums only. but he invented productmanagement ideas into his work, which he calls collections. this reminds at Pop Art, but is reflecting todays zeitgeist. all designs therefore were initiated in 3 or 6 colors to mirror the collection idea of the artist.
